Landscapes and Beyond

There is a ‘journey’ to take, exploring the familiar and unfamiliar within the boundless fields of scale, space and illusion, but retaining that vital thread with human values and comprehension. This is producing work with equivocal, surrealistic content that calls for reflection from the viewer. Humour is present.

Welcome to Bruce Luxford Art Posted by Bruce

Hi everyone. This site presents the opportunity to view a selection of images, as a good cross section of the work, as a painter, I have been producing over recent years. To hold true to this purpose you can view work that has been sold as well as not sold but available for purchasing. This site is simply set up for the visitor and I will be adding new content and editing existing content as we go along. Feedback/comments are welcome.

Enter into A life in the day of…….

Like some other visual artists around the world, ‘I’m searching for pictorial stories that are based on the idea that the painted picture knows itself to be metaphorical, rhetorical, transformational, fictional, with linking threads to an extrapolated actuality. Real with Surreal’. There is now an exciting Gallery 3 to view.

(A note to Palmerston North art appreciators: A selection of paintings can currently be viewed at Zimmerman Contemporary Art Gallery, Guardian Trust House, corner of Main Street & The Square. Email: art@zimmerman.co.nz).

The next show at the Academy Galleries, 1 Queens Wharf, Wellington, is ‘Artists as Activists 2010′. Showing 21 August to 5 September. An exciting show with some big name artists exhibiting. www.nzafa.com

I now have representation in Christchurch with Bryce Gallery, 122 Riccarton Road. (Email: art2die4@brycegallery.co.nz)  6 of my works are on display and available for purchase. There is a small selection of other top surrealist artists also exhibiting. Curated by Denise Bryce.
